Homemade ‘Hob-nobs’ recipePosted on Sep 29, 2014
My biscuit of choice has always been the humble hob-nob! if your a fellow fan of the oaty little blighters then you HAVE to try this recipe and bake your own. Believe me they are ridiculously easy to bake but taste utterly delicious
I have adapted the recipe slightly by using a mix of caster sugar and light brown sugar to give a subtle caramel flavour
Recipe : makes around 15x
140g salted butter
70g caster sugar
70g brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda (bicarb)
140g self raise flour
110g rolled oats
2 tsp golden syrup
1 tbs milk
Method: Preheated Oven temp 150C/300F/Gas mark 2
Cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the milk, golden syrup and baking soda. Stir in the flour and oats until all ingredients are well combined.
Divide the mixture into 15x equally sized balls and place them on the baking sheets (line the sheets with baking paper to avoid them sticking). Bake for 25 mins or until golden brown.
Once cooked, cool them on a wire rack……Put the kettle on and try not to devour the whole blooming lot!
Happy baking. x
