Spooky Witches fingers recipePosted on Oct 31, 2014
So its Halloween and we are drawing close to the witching hour! If you like me have already prepared your pumpkin and have tea lights at the ready then you may have time to whip up these super quick and easy savoury cheese biscuits in the shape of spooky witches fingers. They are so easy to make but taste delicious and are a great accompaniment to pumpkin soup or a witches brew cocktail!
I have adapted the recipe by adding paprika, if you fancy even more of a kick you could add some dried chili flakes
100g grated Cheddar cheese
25g Softened butter
50g Self raising flour
1/2 tsp mustard powder
1/2 tsp Paprika
Whole Almonds (for fingernails)
Method: Preheated oven 200C
Grate the cheese then add the butter, flour, mustard and paprika to the bowl (add the chilies at this point too if you are using them). Set your mixer on a slow speed and mix until you have a soft dough. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into finger width strips. Pinch the sides of the strips to form nobble finger shapes and add an almond to the end of each one for the fingernail.
Place the biscuits onto a lined baking tray and bake for 10-12mins or until golden brown.
Leave to cool and then enjoy.
Happy Halloween all. x
